| If you use a PC Firewall like pathetic Nortons and think it a good idea to switch off browser referrer info - which the server has already obtained anyway, or use a browser like NS which by default set-up stupidly uses cache totally as if off-line, then this and any server has the right to consider you a risk and you will experience problems because of lack of STANDARD HTTP conversation protocols. But of course as a webmaster on a network you should already know that!! ...and appreciate CGI software which reacts that way to your visitors. |

JumpNcount Perl 5 CGI is a FREE Drop-Menu "Go To" or "Jump"
style linked list Unix script. But unlike most drop menu link lists,
JumpNcount records the number of clicks to each link. The script can log
clicks to many drop-menu forms in one file, OR create a log file for each drop-menu form
on many pages (preferred). After the script is installed, there is no set up
needed for any new drop-menu placed on your pages.
Automatically Creates Files
Links of course can be to other pages within your site or full URLs to other sites. Once a
form is in place, JumpNcount recognises the name of the form (hidden value) and will
create a new log file if necessary, or update an existing one. Should the URL or link
requested also be a new one, JumpNcount will add it to the relevant file ready for further
count updates - so simple.
Incorrect or redundant links can be
removed from relevant count files easily by the generated admin pages, and link counts for
each of your form menu count files can be reset to zero, or count files can be emptied.
Admin also allows you to easily change the admin editing password plus you can also select a count
file for viewing the current totals for each link (JumpNcount lists all
existing logs it has created). Admin access is password protected and both admin pages are accessed via your browser; no FTP necessary.

| Extract the selected compressed file
in
a local-computer directory before proper FTP up loading and it will place all files into
the suggested directories. You must read 'readme.htm' and alter the configuration
variables in the config files before FTP posting to your site. |
